I thought I could pull the axle shafts and just swap out the entire torque tube and carrier but according to the 1929 - 1957 Chevy Master Catalog under shafts rear propeller O.L.

The lighter duty 1.82 will look like heavy metal plating bent to form a basket and the planetary pinions will be held in with a round tin plate held in with 3 machine screws and the sun gear roller thrust washer will stay in the center of the planetary being held in place with the planetary gears.

SO redalert, If you want to bring you RPM up to 6400 ish, you need to find a final gear of about that 7.23.
